Crystal Settle is a dedicated Advanced Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Midwife with more than twenty years of experience. She earned her undergraduate degree in Nursing from Georgia Southwestern State University and went on to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Frontier Nursing University. Throughout her career, Crystal has gained extensive experience in full-scope midwifery and women’s health care, supporting women across the lifespan—from adolescence through menopause.

Karen Harjie is a dedicated Adult Nurse Practitioner with more than 15 years of experience. She earned her MSN at Marian University, followed by a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. Throughout her career, Karen has gained extensive experience in Endocrinology, Gynecologic Oncology, and OB/GYN and she is a Certified Nurse Educator.
Her care philosophy is to provide compassionate and person-centered care, while empowering women to achieve optimal health through holistic wellness.
With a personal history of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and chronic pelvic pain, Karen brings an unique perspective to her practice. She embraces functional, integrative, and complementary medicine, integrating these approaches into both her personal healthcare and clinical practice.
Outside of work, Karen is a former football and dance mom with two adult children, enjoys hiking with her husband and dogs, traveling, and traveling on their motorcycle.

Whitney Vangen is a dedicated Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 19 years of experience helping women navigate their health with confidence and support. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Women's Health and strives to provide compassionate, individualized care.
Throughout her career, Whitney has gained extensive experience in hormone health, menopause management, contraception, sexual health, treatment of vaginitis, UTIs, and other common gynecologic concerns, as well as preventive women’s healthcare. Zoe Pappas

Zoe Pappas (she/her) is a dedicated Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with more than three years of experience. She earned her credentials from Georgetown University. Throughout her career, Zoe has gained extensive experience working in an academic medical center, title X clinic, correctional facilities, a rural health center, and a freestanding birth center.
Her care philosophy is grounded in individualized, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care to develop innovative care plans that significantly enhance patient outcomes.
Zoe is committed to providing care in sexual dysfunction and dissatisfaction, pelvic pain, PCOS, endometriosis, fertility, perinatal mental health, queer health including gender affirming care, adolescent health care, and perimenopause. She believes in working to ensure that patients' own goals are central to their care by prioritizing active listening, thorough education, and shared decision-making.
Outside of work, she enjoys birding, playing the piano, traveling, spending time with her Italian Greyhound (Frances) and her cats (Wednesday and Estelle), and preparing for Halloween (her favorite time of year).

Dana is a dedicated Certified Nurse Midwife with more than ten years of experience. She earned her Master’s Degree from Frontier Nursing University. Throughout her career, Dana has gained extensive experience in caring for women of all ages and backgrounds in both high-risk hospital environments and community-based birth centers, developing a deep appreciation for the many valid approaches to care.
Her clinical expertise includes pre-conception counseling, fertility and infertility care, contraception management, prenatal, postpartum, and lactation support, gynecologic care, PCOS, thyroid disorders, perimenopause and menopause, and overall health optimization.

Her clinical experience spans public health, geriatrics, dialysis, inpatient care, and primary care.

She earned her Master’s degree in Nursing at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Throughout her career, Jasma has gained extensive experience in women’s health. Before joining the Visana family, Jasma worked on the labor and delivery unit at Medical City Arlington and provided astounding in-person care at Omega OBGYN Associates.
Her care philosophy is to provide the best care possible for each patient and emphasizes patient education as an integral part of patient care.

She earned her bachelor’s in Literature at Yale University, and became a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Womxn’s Health Nurse Practitioner at the University of California, San Francisco. She is currently studying to become a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Throughout her career, Thanh-Tam has gained extensive experience in full scope womxn’s care and reproductive health.

Dr. Barbara Levy

Barbara Levy, M.D., FACOG, FACS, is a lifelong advocate for advancing the quality of women’s health. Dr. Levy was in private practice and served as a Medical Director for Women’s and Children’s Services for the Franciscan Health System. She was elected as the first female president of AAGL in 1994-1995.
In 2012 Dr. Levy joined the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) as the first full-time woman physician leader. She built a quality, safety and informatics team dedicated to supporting improvement in health care for women.
Her research interests span from outcomes research in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery to optimizing care for women with chronic pelvic pain. Her clinical work focused on evidence-based, equitable, comprehensive care for women throughout their life course.
Dr. Levy graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University. She obtained her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego, followed by an internship and residency at the Oregon Health Sciences University. She currently holds clinical professorships in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and UCSD Health.

Dr. Chevon Rariy is a nationally recognized physician-executive, healthcare innovator, and technology leader serving as Chief Medical Technology Officer at Visana Health. She leads the company’s product and technology vision, overseeing cross-functional technology, product, data, and clinical innovation teams responsible for building and scaling a next-generation virtual women’s health platform spanning gynecology, hormonal health, cardiometabolic care, and complex chronic conditions. With expertise at the intersection of clinical care, AI, digital health, and data analytics, Dr. Rariy drives the development of technology-enabled care models that improve outcomes, enhance patient and clinician experience, and advance value-based care. Prior to Visana Health, she held leadership roles at Amazon Care, Oncology Care Partners, City of Hope, and Takeda Digital Ventures, where she led digital transformation and enterprise innovation initiatives. Her leadership has been recognized nationally through honors including Modern Healthcare Women Leaders and the Innovator Award. She also serves on the FDA Digital Health Advisory Board and lectures on digital innovation at Cornell’s Sloan Master of Health Administration program.
Dr. Rariy is also a practicing physician focused on delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care for women across the health continuum, with expertise in endocrine, metabolic, and weight management. Triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Obesity Medicine, she completed fellowship training at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), where her research examined the use of digital tools in chronic disease management. She earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, with distinction, and graduated with honors from Duke University.

Nicole Shin is a seasoned women's health nurse practitioner with over 10 years of experience, having graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a focus on empowering women to take control of their health and well-being.
She has a deep commitment to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients. Throughout her career, Nicole has built a reputation for her dedication to excellence to quality and her unwavering commitment to the well-being of those under her care.

Noura Quayson is a dedicated Certified Nurse Midwife and Board Certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner with more than twenty years of experience. She completed her Master's at the University of Pennsylvania with a cohort of brilliant care providers. Throughout her career, Noura has gained extensive experience in menstrual regulation, family planning, contraception, and STI management.

Shelly has over 20 years of healthcare operating and venture capital experience where she focused on digital health, medical devices and healthcare services.
Shelly holds a MBA from the Wharton School and a BA from the University of Minnesota. She is a Kauffman Fellow, Class VI.



Dr. Barbara Levy
Chief Medical Officer
Barbara Levy, M.D., FACOG, FACS, is a lifelong advocate for advancing the quality of women’s health. Dr. Levy was in private practice and served as a Medical Director for Women’s and Children’s Services for the Franciscan Health System. She was elected as the first female president of AAGL in 1994-1995.
In 2012 Dr. Levy joined the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) as the first full-time woman physician leader. She built a quality, safety and informatics team dedicated to supporting improvement in health care for women.
Her research interests span from outcomes research in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery to optimizing care for women with chronic pelvic pain. Her clinical work focused on evidence-based, equitable, comprehensive care for women throughout their life course.
Dr. Levy graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University. She obtained her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego, followed by an internship and residency at the Oregon Health Sciences University. She currently holds clinical professorships in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and UCSD Health.

Dr. Chevon Rariy MD, DABOM
Chief Medical Technology Officer
Dr. Chevon Rariy is a nationally recognized physician-executive, healthcare innovator, and technology leader serving as Chief Medical Technology Officer at Visana Health. She leads the company’s product and technology vision, overseeing cross-functional technology, product, data, and clinical innovation teams responsible for building and scaling a next-generation virtual women’s health platform spanning gynecology, hormonal health, cardiometabolic care, and complex chronic conditions. With expertise at the intersection of clinical care, AI, digital health, and data analytics, Dr. Rariy drives the development of technology-enabled care models that improve outcomes, enhance patient and clinician experience, and advance value-based care. Prior to Visana Health, she held leadership roles at Amazon Care, Oncology Care Partners, City of Hope, and Takeda Digital Ventures, where she led digital transformation and enterprise innovation initiatives. Her leadership has been recognized nationally through honors including Modern Healthcare Women Leaders and the Innovator Award. She also serves on the FDA Digital Health Advisory Board and lectures on digital innovation at Cornell’s Sloan Master of Health Administration program.
Dr. Rariy is also a practicing physician focused on delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care for women across the health continuum, with expertise in endocrine, metabolic, and weight management. Triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Obesity Medicine, she completed fellowship training at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), where her research examined the use of digital tools in chronic disease management. She earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, with distinction, and graduated with honors from Duke University.


Carla Eckhardt Taracena

Carla L. Eckhardt Taracena, MSc, is a seasoned senior manager with over 30 years of dynamic leadership experience in non-profit, academic, and for-profit healthcare organizations including serving as Chief Operating Officer in a prominent US healthcare system to leading as Country Director for international NGOs. She is recognized for her proficiency in managing executive teams and large multi-site clinical staff, achieving measurable results, and driving positive outcomes. Notably, under her leadership, clinical programs experienced a consistent annual increase in service volume by 10-20%, including the successful establishment of new service lines and innovative business models to generate revenue.
Carla's generalist skills span all organizational functions, including finance, marketing, human resources, clinical protocol development, independent research, and new business development. An accomplished people leader, Carla has successfully developed high-performing teams and instituted creative leadership training initiatives. Her ability to articulate strategic visions and align work efforts with business and social impact goals has been a consistent theme throughout her distinguished career.
Given the evolving landscape of healthcare, Carla recognizes the pivotal role of telemedicine in today's trends. Recently appointed as Vice President of Clinical Operations at Visana Health, a cutting-edge telemedicine startup, Carla is at the forefront of steering the company's focus on providing comprehensive women's health care. In a world where the importance of accessible and patient-centric healthcare is paramount, telemedicine emerges as a transformative force.
At Visana Health, the mission is to address the unique needs of women whose chronic conditions may have gone undiagnosed or treated poorly. This disruptive approach in the medical field sets Visana Health apart—they prioritize listening to women over solely relying on test results. This new role perfectly aligns with Carla's career mission of serving women and empowering them to take control of their health journey.
Having earned an MSc in global management from the Robert Kennedy College business school in Zurich and a BA from Yale University, Carla's educational background equips her with a comprehensive understanding of global dynamics that inform her domestic health care delivery leadership.
With a commitment to women's reproductive health, Carla has been dedicated to ensuring women worldwide have access to safe, high-quality care. She has co-authored publicationssuch as "Implementation of the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health Program to Reduce Maternal Mortality in Malawi" in Obstetrics & Gynecology (March 2019), & "Obstetrics and Gynecology in Global Health: Lessons Learned for advancing public health to achieve universal health care"; in the American College of Surgeons (May 2018), and an editorial titled "Beyond Education and Training, Making Change Stick" in Contraception (May 2009).
Carla currently residing in Palo Alto with her children and beloved mutt Olive. Looking ahead, she is eager to continue her journey of guiding organizations to reach larger audiences, fostering innovation, and contributing to the positive transformation addressing women’s access to high quality health care.
Tom Maraday
Chief Commercial Officer
Tom Maraday serves as the Chief Commercial Officer at Visana Health, where he leads the revenue growth of the organization across sales, marketing, and customer success.
Tom is a strategic business development leader with over 30 years of experience in health and wellbeing solutions for large employers and payers. In 2022, Tom was named to the Top 25 Sales Executives in Healthcare Technology by the Healthcare Technology Report.
Prior to Visana Health, Tom was the Senior Vice President, Commercial at Omada Health, where he led the rapid growth of employer sales over 5+ years leading up to the IPO in 2025.
Before Omada, Tom spent five years as the Chief Commercial Officer at EHE Health, a 114-year-old preventive healthcare company. Before EHE Health, Tom was the Vice President of Client Relations at Bright Horizons Family Solutions where he delivered significant growth as a leader in multiple divisions.
For the first 22 years of his career, Tom rose through 10 different positions at Plus One Health Management, the leading provider of corporate fitness centers and wellness programs. As the Chief Development Officer and a Principal at Plus One, Tom led the company to be the fastest growing in the corporate fitness and wellness industry, which resulted in its sale to Optum/United Healthcare in 2013.
Tom earned a B.S. in Human Performance and Nutrition from Southern Connecticut State University and holds a number of certifications from Columbia University, IESE Business School-Barcelona, Human Performance Institute, and The Thayer Leadership Academy as the USMA, West Point.
Tom is an active philanthropist, community leader and passionate advocate for giving back. He was the founder of two philanthropic programs including Plus One Cares and Omada Cares. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, former board member of the DJ Dream Fund, and served as a volunteer at the 9/11 Memorial. On a personal note, Tom was born and raised in New York and is the proud father of daughters, Lauren and Kathryn.
