For the symptoms you've been told are "just normal"

Your symptoms deserve real attention. Our 45-minute initial visits give time to find answers and build a plan with you.

Symptoms and conditions we treat

Complex gynecologic conditions can be hard to diagnose and even harder to navigate. Visana clinicians are trained to catch the patterns and overlaps that get missed in a typical visit.

Pelvic pain that won’t go away
Pain with your period, sex, or going to the bathroom. It's real, and can be treated.
Bladder issues
Tight, overactive pelvic floor muscles can cause pain too — not just your uterus or ovaries.
Heavy or irregular periods
Heavy bleeding is defined by its impact on your life, not by what you're willing to tolerate.
Fibroids & polyps
Fibroids and polyps cause bleeding and pain, but don't always need invasive treatment.
Endometriosis & adenomyosis
Your pelvic pain or heavy periods could be endometriosis or adenomyosis, and you deserve answers.
Migraines, PMS, and PMDD
Hormonal shifts can bring on migraines, irritability, and low mood before your period.
Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS, formerly PCOS)
We start by finding out what's behind your irregular cycles so you can ovulate regularly again.

Frequently asked questions

What complex gynecological conditions does Visana Health treat?

Visana Health treats many gynecologic concerns including endometriosis, adenomyosis, chronic pelvic pain, fibroids, heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic floor dysfunction (problems with leaking urine or going too often), painful periods, PMS, and overlapping gynecologic symptoms.

Can Visana help manage a condition I've already been diagnosed with?

Absolutely. Whether you were diagnosed recently or have been living with a condition for years, our providers can help you manage it with care that fits your life. We take the time to understand what’s working, what isn’t, and what matters most to you, then build a treatment plan with you and adjust it as your needs change.

Can Visana help if I have symptoms but don't have a diagnosis?

Yes, many of our patients come to us with symptoms that haven’t been explained, even after testing came back “normal.” Our women’s health providers specialize in complex conditions and take the time to look at the full picture, including the possibility that more than one condition is contributing. Even when there isn’t one perfect label, we focus on helping you function and feel better.

How does Visana treat heavy menstrual bleeding?

There are hormonal medication options that work by stabilizing the uterine lining and reducing bleeding over time. There are also non-hormonal medications. For example, anti-inflammatory medications can reduce menstrual bleeding by up to about 50% for some people. Finally, supportive and holistic approaches matter. An anti-inflammatory diet, correcting vitamin and iron deficiencies, lifestyle adjustments, and stress and mental health support can all play a meaningful role — especially alongside medical treatment.

When medical management has failed, non-surgical or minimally invasive procedures are available. Most of the time, you do not need a hysterectomy. Visana will assist you in finding a skilled provider for minimally invasive procedures when needed.

Will Visana recommend surgery for a complex gynecologic condition?

Surgery can be an important treatment option for some gynecologic conditions, but it isn’t a first step we typically recommend. Visana takes an evidence-based, conservative-first approach, helping you understand appropriate non-surgical and minimally invasive options before considering surgery. If surgery is the right next step for you, your clinician can explain why and coordinate with an in-person specialist for the care you need.

The most important thing to know is that you have options, and the right plan aligns with your body, your values, and your life.

What happens if I need care that can't be provided virtually?

When you need an in-person exam, imaging, procedure, or specialist, Visana helps coordinate that care with local providers so your virtual and in-person treatment stays connected.

My symptoms have been dismissed before; how is Visana Health different?

First, we're sorry you've had that experience. At Visana Health, our providers listen first, and our 45-minute initial appointments give them the time to do it. We know and trust that your symptoms are real, and we'll work with you to understand what's behind them.

What matters isn't whether your symptoms seem "bad enough," but how they affect your life. If symptoms change how you move through your day, how you relate to your body, or how safe you feel in it, they matter, and you deserve relief.
